The gathering of families of the victims, injured, and affected by the Beirut port explosion held their monthly vigil this evening in front of Martyrs' Gate No. 3, dedicating a significant portion of it to solidarity with Gaza and its people, raising Palestinian and Lebanese flags. The vigil began with a minute of silence and a prayer for the souls of the martyrs of Gaza and Lebanon, particularly for the journalist Imad Abdullah, whose picture was displayed.
The spokesperson for the gathering, Ibrahim Hattit, stated: "Undoubtedly, the massacres occurring in Gaza and the West Bank, indeed the genocide, have pained us as they have many, but they have reopened our wounds as families of martyrs, in particular, bringing back memories of the horrific massacre that affected our loved ones. We remember our martyrs and the horrors we have endured. Thus, we are here today to highlight our cause and show solidarity with Gaza and its people. We are the ones who feel their suffering the most, especially upon hearing the news of the martyrdom of the Palestinian child Beirut, who was born on August 4, 2020, and whose parents named her Beirut in solidarity with us. Yes, Beirut has been killed twice, and the enemy is one — the bloodthirsty Zionist enemy, supported by its backers, foremost of whom is the United States."
He continued: "I have previously informed public opinion that I possess all the investigations conducted by the Lebanese, American, French, and German security agencies, the same ones in the hands of investigating judge Tarek Bitar, which will form a significant part of his indictment decision. All these investigations point towards negligence. Frankly, despite not having evidence, my conviction, which is known to the insiders including the martyrs' families committee, is that this was an Israeli terrorist act, if not an airstrike. Indeed, I have no proof of that other than my analysis of certain data, which is why I remained silent despite Netanyahu's tweets and the American president's comments, which were later deleted, as well as the significant benefit derived by the Port of Haifa after the Beirut port was incapacitated. Most importantly, we have been provided with satellite images by all the major powers through an agreement."
