Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of 139 terrorist elements from a "separatist terrorist organization" during a security operation across 15 provinces in the country. In a tweet posted on the platform "X," Yerlikaya revealed that the extensive security operation included the provinces of Ardahan, Kırklareli, Batman, Şırnak, İzmir, Bursa, Antalya, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Istanbul, Adana, Muş, Şanlıurfa, and Van.
He added that the suspects had either:
- Previously worked within the separatist terrorist organization (PKK).
- Operated within the youth structure of the mentioned organization.
- Propagated the terrorist organization through their social media accounts.
- Planned to launch attacks against security forces, public vehicles, and government buildings during the events of "Nowruz."
- Chanted slogans supporting the terrorist organization during distributions following the "Nowruz Parade."
- Attempted to carry out operations on March 21 and before.
As a result of the security operation, a significant number of weapons and digital materials were confiscated.
