EU Extends Sanctions on Iran for One Year

The European Union has extended its sanctions on Iran for one year due to allegations of "supporting Russia and destabilizing the Middle East and the Red Sea region," according to a statement from the EU Council. The statement issued by the EU Council explained: "The Council of the European Union has extended the sanctions against Iran until July 27, 2025, for its support of Russia in the conflict in Ukraine and for its support of armed groups and militias in the Middle East and the Red Sea region."
