Title: The Ring of Fire Encircles the South up to Akka with the Threat of War Present

As attention was directed yesterday towards the 200th day of the Gaza conflict, the southern region, on the eve of reaching this milestone, became a scene of violence mirroring that of the Gaza Strip. For the first time since the clashes began on October 8, rockets from Hezbollah struck the coast of Akka. Meanwhile, the Israeli war machine covered much of the south with fire, resulting in human losses, notably the deaths of two Hezbollah leaders and two civilians, a woman and a child.

In parallel, "Nidaa Al-Watan" learned that a new French proposal to end the conflict was approved by the Americans, presented to Israel, which also agreed to it. Hezbollah agreed as well, under the condition that it would be implemented after the end of the Gaza war. However, Israel rejected postponing the application of what Paris proposed and insisted on its immediate implementation.

In light of this confusion in the French mediation, interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed his concern that the threat of war between Lebanon and Israel is looming, showing significant worry about the possibility of this war escalating as long as the Gaza conflict is ongoing.

Among the tragic events of yesterday's escalation was a massacre caused by an Israeli airstrike in the town of Hanin, resulting in the deaths of citizen Mariam Qashqash and her 11-year-old niece Sarah, with six others injured.

In terms of battlefield developments, Hezbollah announced that it had launched a complex aerial attack using UAVs over the command center of the Golani Brigade and a military unit north of the city of Akka, as retaliation for the Israeli aggression against the town of Adloun and the assassination of one of its members. A source close to the party told AFP that the deceased was an engineer in Hezbollah's air defense unit. The party had previously mourned one of its fighters, without providing further details.

For its part, the Israeli army stated that its forces successfully intercepted two suspicious aerial targets on the northern coast of the state. It confirmed that one of its aircraft killed a prominent member of Hezbollah's air defense unit in southern Lebanon, stating that this individual was active in planning and executing attacks against Israel. The Israeli army also reported that it killed a fighter from the aerial unit of the Radwan Forces, the party’s elite forces, during nighttime operations.
