Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah affirmed that "many of the wounded who were not incapacitated by their injuries return to the fields of jihad." In his speech at the central Ashura Council, he noted that "the vast majority of the wounded from the Islamic Resistance have recovered and returned to the fronts of battle." Nasrallah pointed out that political, social, and cultural awareness is necessary at this time among leaders, officials, and the general public as well, emphasizing that it leads to insight. He asserted that "our duty is to fight to repel the aggression against the people of Gaza, and this is not a favor nor is it a gift." He compared Islamic culture with Western culture, explaining that "in Islam, people are the center, while the West relies on a culture of the self and sacrifices everything, even the closest people, for selfishness." Nasrallah emphasized that "the culture of the self is the foundation of Western culture and is their main criterion."
