Non-Diplomatic Message: Israeli Foreign Minister Mocks Spanish Prime Minister

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz posted a somewhat non-diplomatic message on the platform "X," mocking Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his deputy Yolanda Díaz over their parties' results in the European elections. Katz stated in his message: "The Spanish people have punished Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz's coalition with a resounding defeat in the elections. It turns out that embracing Hamas murderers and rapists doesn't pay off."

He accompanied the tweet with an AI-generated image showing the leftist politicians with broken eggs on their heads. He added: "It turns out that embracing the murderers and rapists from Hamas doesn't pay off." In the European Parliament elections, Sánchez's Socialist Workers' Party fell to second place (20 seats) behind the center-right People's Party (22 seats), while Díaz's party won only three seats.

Spain was one of the European countries that recognized the Palestinian state last May, a move that angered Israel, which accused it of siding with Hamas, leading to a diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
