Indian media reported that "a man in Bihar was bitten by a snake and reacted similarly by biting the snake to death in a bizarre incident." According to local reports, Santosh Lohar, a worker on a railway project in the Rajouli area, was sleeping in his camp last week when the incident occurred. A venomous snake entered Lohar's tent and bit him, prompting the 35-year-old to wake up. He struck the snake with a metal rod and then bit it several times, driven by the superstition that biting a snake would neutralize its venom, which resulted in fatal injuries to the snake, causing it to die immediately. Lohar was then taken to the Rajouli district hospital, where he received treatment, quickly recovered, and was discharged the next day. He stated, "In my village, there is a belief that if a snake bites you, you must bite it twice to neutralize the venom." Many local residents doubted that the snake was venomous.
