Egypt: Giant Shark Sighted in Hurghada!

Workers involved in marine activities in Marsa Alam, southeastern Egypt, reported the sighting of a toothless whale shark, known locally as "Bahloul", which caused a state of panic among citizens. Hassan Al-Tayeb, founder of the Marine Rescue and Environmental Conservation Association in Hurghada, stated, "The whale shark is about 70 years old, appeared around 60 million years ago, and is considered one of the largest shark species. It is classified as a cartilaginous fish, primarily feeding on microscopic organisms and plankton that are not visible to the naked eye." Whale sharks appear in specific areas, and there are several guidelines for interacting with these creatures to provide a suitable environment for them, as they can reach lengths of about 13 meters and sometimes weigh up to 21 tons.
