Important Alert for Saudi Citizens in Italy

The Saudi Embassy in Rome has issued an "important" alert for citizens wishing to travel to Italy due to the "increased number of theft cases affecting citizens arriving in the country." The embassy recommended in a statement "not to leave any personal belongings or bags inside cars when leaving them, even for a short period." It advised to be cautious with personal belongings and passports while wandering, preferably keeping them in a safe place, such as the hotel safe, and only carrying a copy of them.

The embassy highlighted the "necessity of being vigilant when using public transportation, such as train stations, subways, and public buses, keeping luggage close and in sight at all times." It advised against "wearing or displaying any jewelry or valuable items to avoid theft and pickpocketing."

The embassy noted that "in case of emergencies, citizens can contact the embassy using the dedicated number for Saudi Affairs."
