Arrest of a Political Analyst Close to the Framework in Saudi Arabia

A knowledgeable political source reported on Saturday that the Saudi authorities arrested political analyst Ammar Al-Masafair, who is associated with the coordinating framework. The source noted that "the reasons for the arrest are unknown at this time," while close associates of Al-Masafair shared on social media that he was arrested from a hotel in Medina five days ago. Previously, Saudi authorities had arrested an Iraqi pilgrim who loudly called out "O Allah, support the Hashd" during the pilgrimage rituals. Yesterday, the Saudi Attorney General, Sheikh Saud Al-Muajab, issued warnings regarding the security of the pilgrimage and the pilgrims, stating that it is a "red line," and that there is no pilgrimage without a permit, affirming that the public prosecutor will enforce strict penalties on violators.
