Many stars of Real Madrid will change their jersey numbers at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, most notably the Uruguayan Federico Valverde, who will wear the number 8 jersey previously worn by Toni Kroos. Kroos, who joined Real Madrid in 2014 from Bayern Munich, announced that he would retire after participating in the 2024 European Championship. His German national team career has already ended in the quarter-finals, marking his farewell to football.
According to Real Madrid's official website, Valverde will be wearing Kroos' number 8 jersey starting from the new season. The Uruguayan midfielder had previously worn the number 15 jersey during past seasons with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid also indicated that French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga will give up number 12 to wear number 6, while his compatriot Aurélien Tchouaméni will transition from number 18 to number 14. Turkish player Arda Güler, who wore number 24 last season, will take number 15 starting from the new season.
As for the new arrival, French star Kylian Mbappé will wear the number 9 jersey.
