7-Year-Old "Victim" of Stray Bullets in Hadath

7-Year-Old

Following the injury of 7-year-old girl Naya Hanaa in Hadath from a stray bullet, the Mayor of Hadath issued the following statement: "Between life and death, Naya Hanaa is a new victim of the criminal bullets fired by the mindless celebrators during their festivities or the announcement of official exam results. Yesterday afternoon, in the playground of the Sacred Hearts School in Hadath, while Naya was spending another day with her friends at summer camp, she was chosen by the bullet of a killer celebrator devoid of any human qualities. The blood of Naya, the only child of her mother (Karol Khattar) and father (Jean Hanaa), cannot be compensated by a conscience that is fundamentally lost, nor can justice, even if achieved, heal an immeasurable pain and damage. Naya's blood is also a call to security agencies, the judiciary, religious leaders, political parties, opinion-makers, and the media, as she cries out to them all: Do something... Bear your humanitarian and moral responsibility to stop this tragedy that repeats itself in various areas and occasions. As we stand by the side of Naya's mother and father in their harsh and bitter ordeal, we ask divine mercy for her childhood and pray for her the grace of healing and recovery."
