The developers of the "WhatsApp" application have begun testing an additional feature in the version designed for Android devices. According to WABetaInfo, the feature that allows the conversion of voice messages to written text has appeared in the beta testing version "2.24.15.5" of the "WhatsApp" app for Android. The site noted that the feature is currently available to a limited number of users for testing, and it is expected to be officially launched in the full versions of the application that will be available in the foreseeable future.
This feature was originally developed for the "WhatsApp" app for devices running iOS and was released to users of these devices in May of last year. The feature currently supports converting voice to text in several languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi, and it is expected to support additional languages in the future. WABetaInfo also indicated that the "WhatsApp" application may receive a new feature called "People nearby," through which users will be able to send data without needing the internet, relying on Bluetooth networks.
