Qawouk: We Told Them Last Year "Don't Try the Experimented" and Dialogue is the Only Option

Qawouk: We Told Them Last Year

Member of the Central Council of "Hezbollah," Sheikh Nabil Qawouk, indicated that "while the resistance is accumulating its achievements and solidifying the deterrence equation against the Israeli enemy, we see that internal crises at various levels are becoming increasingly complex and exacerbated." He added that "the internal and external movement regarding the presidential file has not made any progress towards getting out of the impasse." Qawouk pointed out that "the equation has become clear, and the internal balances in the Parliament impose on all parties the need for agreement and dialogue, and consensus has become mandatory for everyone. A year ago we told them 'don't try the experimented,' and there is no option other than dialogue."

Qawouk made these remarks during his sponsorship of the annual graduation ceremony organized by the Al-Mahdi Eastern Secondary School, attended by various personalities and figures. He emphasized at a celebration held in the town of Al-Duwayr that "our option to exit the crisis is national consensus because we want to save the country, and it cannot be saved with a mentality of confrontation, challenge, and sedition." He added that "what happened in recent days with the movement of international envoys (the French and Qatari), along with the internal movement, especially the initiative of President Nabih Berri, confirmed that the group of challenge and confrontation is still in a position of maneuvering nomination and not serious about exiting the impasse."

Qawouk concluded: "The insistence on the logic of confrontation and challenge makes us more determined to elect a president who is trusted to save the country and protect civil peace from sedition, as there are those who insist on dragging the country into sedition through daily incitement and provocation."
