Iraq Agrees with Saudi Aramco to Develop Gas Fields

The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayyan Abdul Ghani announced an agreement with Saudi Aramco to invest in and develop the Akkas gas field in Anbar Province. During his participation in the Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council, he stated that the goal of investing in and developing the Akkas gas field is to reach a production capacity of 400 million standard cubic feet per day. The Minister of Oil also mentioned a preliminary agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to contribute to the investment in the Nebras project, which is considered one of the most important promising strategic projects in the petrochemical industries in Iraq and the region.
