ISIS Attacks a New Target in Deir Ezzor Countryside

Gunmen from the "ISIS" organization targeted a vehicle belonging to an investor in oil wells in the town of Al-Jerthi Al-Sharqi in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, causing it to catch fire. The organization imposes financial amounts under the name of "zakat" on traders, investors, and those working in the oil sector, threatening anyone who refuses to pay with warnings before deciding to eliminate them. The Syrian Observatory documented 147 operations carried out by "ISIS" cells within the areas controlled by the "Self-Administration" since the beginning of 2024, conducted through armed attacks, targeting, and bombings. According to the Syrian Observatory's documentation, the death toll from these operations reached 77, including 49 members of the Syrian Democratic Forces and internal security forces, along with other military formations operating in "Self-Administration" areas, 11 members of the organization, 4 guards working with the "Self-Administration," and 13 civilians, including a child and a sorceress.
