The "Beirut Marathon" Association completed logistical preparations for the 19th International Beirut Marathon taking place tomorrow, Sunday, at the waterfront area of the capital under the slogan "One Race, One Heart." The arrival of registered foreign and Arab professional runners for the race has been finalized. They participated in a warm-up and course familiarization run of 5 kilometers at 7:30 AM today, a practice common in marathon events worldwide.
The race program includes a speech by the Association's President, Maya Khalil, who will discuss the atmosphere and challenges faced during preparations, followed by messages from a Palestinian girl and a boy from Southern Lebanon, in addition to the participation of dozens of Palestinian children representing the Palestinian camps in the 5 km race for charity organizations.
The list of foreign professional male and female runners includes: Jadisa Tafa Dikiba, Gojam Ayi, Nigash Yadati, Asmera Asifa, Dokali Ruby Horisa Dejiwa, Burhan Amby from Ethiopia, as well as Kenyan John Rottish.
From the Arab professional runners: Sudanese Yusuf Musa, Jordanian Mohammad Al-Sheikh, Sudanese Hwanaya Adam, Sudanese Abdullah Mohammad, and Jordanian Aref Fahd.
Among the Lebanese participants are: Dawood Mustafa, Imad Jazini, Saleh Zaiter, Samir Salman, Tony Hanna, Zahir Zain al-Din, Katia Rashed, Nada Al-Jisr, Hussein Awada, Joseph Qozah, Khalil Asmar, Ali Bazal, Wissam Khair, Alin Maarab, Yasmine Ashkar, and Jumana Safa.
