Title: Qabalan: The Need to Protect the Resistance Through a Covenant Presidential Settlement

The renowned Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan stated, "We need to understand that the war in Gaza has its eyes on Lebanon." In a statement, he emphasized, "What is happening in the region affects the essence of the country and the sovereign surrounding of Lebanon. We must comprehend that the war in Gaza is aimed at Lebanon amidst a world where justice is only found in strength. Lebanon's value is tied to its southern front and the readiness of its resistance and arsenal. This necessitates meeting the war with a national decision that results in a covenant presidential settlement to reaffirm Lebanon's national choices, the capacities of its state, and the influence of its various institutions and agencies, in order to thwart the American project aimed at undermining the state and its institutions. The initiative of moderation must adopt an approach that addresses the needs of national partnership and its covenant, and the reality of Lebanon amidst the tsunami of the mad American project. The efforts of ambassadors, as long as they are influenced by American fingers, will not earn our trust, even if they proclaim 'There is no god but Allah.' President Nabih Berri serves as a sovereign guarantee to protect the role and function of the most vital sovereign site in the Lebanese state."

He continued, "To some, I say: The fires of the American Spring have affected Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Iraq, and now Lebanon (since the Spring of the WhatsApp Revolution), today it is Gaza, and before that Sudan, which is gasping for breath. Washington's eyes are now on the keys to Lebanon's constitutional institutions amidst projects targeting the national and sectarian structure of the country. In this context, the game of Gaza port is related to Haifa port at the expense of Lebanon's ports, aiming to reconnect Haifa with ports in India and turn the Middle East into a version of Haifa port as a key for controlling the influential structures in Asia and a vital link to Africa. From here, some need to understand that the Gaza war is a bridgehead for a future war affecting the surrounding region. Ben Gurion previously stated, 'To ensure Israel's survival, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq must be destroyed.' Today, however, the political and military establishment in Tel Aviv is terrified of the assessments regarding Lebanon, not because it carries a dove and an olive branch, but because it has resistance, and it is necessary to protect the back of the resistance through a covenant presidential settlement that is far removed from the interests of Washington and Brussels."
