Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Abbas Haj Hassan, toured the "The Arena" center in Riyadh during his visit to Saudi Arabia, where the Environment and Agriculture Week 2024 exhibition is being held. This exhibition takes place annually in conjunction with the Environment and Agriculture Week in the Kingdom, aiming to educate various segments of society about their local environments and the correct environmental behaviors that should be practiced to maintain the sustainability of their resources.
The exhibition is part of the activities of Environment and Agriculture Week and is a national environmental event approved by a decision from the Saudi Cabinet, aimed at raising environmental awareness, promoting agricultural culture within the community, achieving environmental sustainability, preserving natural resources, and reducing pollution in all its forms. Many events, programs, and initiatives are implemented during this week across the Kingdom.
Haj Hassan's tour was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in the Kingdom and included a reception by distinguished scouting teams working in the field of environmental awareness and national agriculture education. Haj Hassan praised "the role that the Kingdom plays domestically and internationally in efforts to mitigate global warming and expand green spaces through the internal projects carried out by the ministry, which are in harmony with the Green Middle East Project that aims to plant 10 billion trees in Saudi Arabia and 40 billion trees in the Middle East."
