# Kuwait: Upholding the Death Sentence for Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah

The Kuwaiti Court of Appeals ruled today, Sunday, to execute Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the murderer of Kuwaiti jet ski champion Abdulaziz Al-Zaatri. On the evening of April 10, last year, a horrific crime occurred in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, resulting in Al-Zaatri's death after an individual shot him 10 times in front of his home, then fled to an unknown location.

The Criminal Security Sector later succeeded in apprehending the suspect and recovering the weapon used in the crime, and he was referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

Urgent: The Court of Appeals upholds the death sentence for Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the killer of Abdulaziz Al-Zaatri. The killer fired 14 bullets at the victim in front of his home in Sabah Al-Salem during the year 2022.

In response, the lawyer for the victim's heirs, Bashar Al-Nassar, stated: "I was not surprised by this great verdict from our honorable judiciary in general and the Sixth Criminal Appeals Division in particular. This glorious judiciary establishes justice and rules fairly, without distinction between a high-ranking individual or a common citizen." He added: "Everyone is equal before the law. Yes, this is the Kuwaiti judiciary that has no authority over it, and yes, this is Kuwait under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad and his loyal Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled."
