Baqeri Warns from Baghdad: The Genocide in Gaza Must Stop

Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed during a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ali Baqeri today, Thursday, that the expansion of the war to Lebanon will affect the entire region. Baqeri emphasized that the genocide in Gaza must stop unconditionally. Hussein stated in the press conference, "We are pleased with today's discussions with the Iranian Foreign Minister, and we addressed the ceasefire in Gaza; Iraq's position on this matter is clear." He added, "The expansion of the war to Lebanon will affect the entire region."

On his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister "acting" Ali Baqeri remarked during the conference, "We were surprised by the departure of two great personalities in the Islamic Republic, namely the President and the Foreign Minister." Baqeri thanked Iraq for its sympathy, both government and people, towards Iran and for standing by it during difficult times, noting that they discussed the relations between the two countries during the meeting. The Iranian Foreign Minister confirmed that "there are significant commonalities between Iraq and Iran," pointing out that "the Iraqi and Iranian peoples share a common civilization and history." Baqeri continued, "Iran's vision is to expand relations with Iraq comprehensively," highlighting that "the genocide in Gaza must stop unconditionally."
