Violent Clashes in Al-Kamalya, Baghdad, and Security Forces Intervene

The Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Sunday, the arrest of 20 suspects under various legal provisions and the seizure of unlicensed weapons and equipment in both the Karkh and Rusafa districts. A security source reported that a security force was dispatched to the Al-Kamalya area in eastern Baghdad to manage a tribal dispute involving the use of light and medium weapons, amidst exchanges of gunfire, with no further information available on the presence of injuries.

Additionally, the Baghdad Operations Command clarified in a statement that their units, through the second and fifth federal police divisions and their attached units, assisted by intelligence agencies, carried out security operations for regional searches and armed reconnaissance in areas such as (Al-Basateen neighborhood, Al-Nasr neighborhood, Al-Shu'la/Al-Sahha, Al-Tijjar, Al-Shi'shan, Kamira, Sadr City, Al-Sab'a village, Al-Jihad neighborhood, Al-Ridwaniya, Al-'Amal neighborhood, and Al-Diwan) in both Karkh and Rusafa districts.

It was added that "these operations resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects under different legal provisions, including those accused of (criminal and organized crimes, possession of weapons, and fighting)."
