Iraqi security forces carried out a significant security operation this morning, Sunday, to pursue ISIS cells in Diyala province, Eastern Iraq. The security forces began storming the Sara orchard, an agricultural area densely occupied by ISIS cells, which serves as a safe haven and includes important leaders of the organization. The operation resulted in the death of several ISIS members and the retrieval of the body of a soldier who died yesterday from severe injuries in the area.
It is noteworthy that military intelligence announced on Friday the death of two ISIS members, one of whom was a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt in one of the orchards of the village of Al-Ayt. Subsequently, the Joint Operations Command reported that one of the deceased was known as "Abu Al-Harith," allegedly responsible for Khan Bani Saad in the Diyala region.
The Joint Operations Command of Iraq also reported the deaths and injuries of security forces members in clashes with ISIS fighters in Khan Bani Saad, Diyala. Moments ago, ISIS launched an attack on a security point in Kirkuk province, Northern Iraq. Iraqi security forces engaged with the organization's members in the Qarahnjir area, resulting in the deaths of two ISIS fighters.
