The Saudi champion "Hattan Al-Saif" has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Saudi woman to win in a match of the Professional Fighters League (PFL). The event took place yesterday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, kicking off the championship for the Middle East and North Africa at the Green Sports Hall.
Attention was particularly focused on the women's bout between Saudi "Hattan" and Egyptian "Nada Fahim," marking Hattan as the first Saudi woman to participate in the competition overall. Hattan managed to defeat Nada by knockout in a match that lasted less than a minute, securing the first victory for a Saudi woman in the PFL.
In her interview with "Al Arabiya.net," Hattan said, "I worked hard to win. There are three Saudi athletes, and we all won, but I'm the only woman among them. Saudi female athletes have put in a lot of effort over a long distance to succeed, and the Ministry of Sports has supported the female athletes through the federations."
She continued: "The championship was special, and I didn’t pay attention to any provocation attempts, as I rely on my sportsmanship in dealing with the athletes. I put all my experience in the ring to achieve victory."
Hattan added, "This victory came with the grace of God, and it’s not the first time I've achieved victory. My passion for boxing comes from my feeling that I can achieve great emotions in the ring. Boxing is the right way for me to express myself and my aspirations. I have gone through a long journey of training, which is a very challenging phase that requires commitment regardless of the cost. It requires discipline and dedication, including fitness exercises, strength training, and all types of workouts."
She concluded: "Challenge is a human trait. I challenge myself every time I feel tired and sluggish; I push myself to break barriers and reach the top. I have overcome obstacles with willpower and persistence to continue my journey and achieve the level I aspire to, without allowing negative feelings to affect me. I am a person thirsty for success, and I still aspire for more development and achievements. I will not stop at any title; I want to reach for the skies."
