A video released by the Israeli army on November 15 shows the moment they inspected weapons belonging to Hamas found at Al-Shifa Hospital, revealing fewer weapons at the scene compared to later footage taken by international media teams, suggesting that the weapons may have been moved or placed there before the news teams arrived.
CNN compared the footage published by the Israeli army online with that captured by Fox News, which was granted access to the site in the hours that followed. The Israeli army spokesperson, Jonathan Conricus, led the tour in the army's video, where the time on his wristwatch showed 1:18 PM. Later, when darkness fell, Fox News correspondent Trey Yingsht visited the scene and reported, "It's midnight."
Yingsht showed a bag located behind the MRI machine inside the hospital, over which two AK-47 rifles were visible. However, the earlier video recorded by the Israeli army showed only one AK-47 rifle. It remains unclear where the second AK-47 came from and why it did not appear in the prior video by the army.
In the intervening hours, the Israeli army also published an image online of the weapons allegedly found at Al-Shifa Hospital. The image's filename suggests it was taken at 5:35 PM; this timing places it after the Israeli army's tour of the MRI complex but almost certainly before the arrival of the Fox News crew.
It is possible that the weapons were removed from the scene and replaced before the press teams' arrival, but this does not explain why more weapons were visible when the press arrived compared to the original video from the Israeli army. The BBC was also granted access to the hospital the next day, at which point two AK-47 rifles were still visible above the bag inside the MRI room.
CNN reached out to the Israeli army for clarification regarding the apparent discrepancies but did not receive a response.
