The Internal Security Forces Directorate General - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to apprehend dangerous fugitives throughout Lebanese territory, the special group in the Judiciary Police Unit obtained information about the whereabouts of a man named A. M. (born in 1986, Lebanese), nicknamed 'Kossovi.' He is considered one of the most dangerous wanted individuals in the north, armed at all times, and is wanted for theft, throwing grenades at a military patrol, gunfire, attempted murder, and possession of weapons and ammunition, among other charges."
Following careful surveillance, "he was spotted by one of the patrols of the special group in Halba. Upon attempt to arrest him, he brandished his firearm and fired at the patrol, which responded in kind. However, he jumped into one of the nearby woods and evaded capture." It was later determined that "he was injured as a result of the exchange of fire, and a patrol from the Information Branch, in coordination with the Halba Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie, managed to arrest him while he was entering a hospital to receive treatment."
During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, and an investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary. Kossovi, one of the most dangerous wanted individuals in the north, is now in the custody of the security forces following an armed clash. #Internal_Security #Security_is_a_Trust — Internal Security Forces (@LebISF) August 28, 2023
