America Seeks to Bring the Parties in the Sudan Conflict Back to Negotiations

John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, indicated to reporters today, Thursday, that "the Biden administration is focused on pushing the parties in the conflict in Sudan to engage in peace talks to end the civil war." He added, "We are still primarily focused on bringing the two sides in Sudan back to the table," confirming that "Washington is actively participating in the diplomatic efforts undertaken in this process." Negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing violence in Sudan for 16 months began yesterday, Wednesday.
