"A Difficult Day for Ukraine"... Security Council to Hold Session Tomorrow

The Security Council will hold a session tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss the Russian bombardment of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested the Security Council to "hold a session today to discuss the Russian shelling of Ukraine." Zelensky stated, "We experienced a difficult day after our hospitals were hit by a Russian missile strike that resulted in civilian deaths and injuries." The Ukrainian president also mentioned that "Kyiv is awaiting concrete steps from its partners regarding air defense and energy during the NATO summit this week." The Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported that "28 people were killed, 17 in Kyiv and 11 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and 112 were injured in a widespread Russian shelling." The Interior Ministry noted that "the Russian bombardment damaged over 50 civilian facilities, including two medical institutions." The Russian Defense Ministry denied targeting civilian facilities in Kyiv, stating that "the damage was caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile."
