The ancient civilization of the Kingdom of Bahrain played a significant role in ensuring the success of the outcomes of the 33rd ordinary Arab summit held yesterday, Thursday, at the Al-Sakhir Palace in Manama, serving as a stage for achievements that will be immortalized in history. The Kingdom of Bahrain is situated on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, where civilizations meet and eras harmonize, carrying a rich historical legacy filled with accomplishments and cultures, having witnessed the rise of ancient civilizations and being a host for sea traders who connected the East with the West.
The Bahrain Fort is a testament to this rich historical heritage and cultural achievements from ancient times to the present day. In this context, museum specialist Maha Salbeikh, speaking to the Emirates News Agency "WAM," stated that the location of Bahrain Fort is considered one of the largest historical sites in the kingdom and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005 due to its significance.
She pointed out that this site has been home to three civilizations, starting with the Dilmun civilization, which dates back approximately 4,000 years BC, followed by the Tylos civilization, and then the Islamic civilization. She noted that the location of Bahrain Fort features a seaport, which played a significant role in linking the Dilmun civilization with other civilizations, explaining that due to the presence of this port in the area of the fort, which covers 17 hectares, it became the capital of the Dilmun civilization.
She emphasized that Bahrain's creativity continues its civilizational journey, aiming to be an important cultural and commercial center, as well as a gateway for communication between Islamic and global civilizations.
