The Saudi magazine "Al-Majalla," which is part of the "Saudi Research and Media Group," revealed the content of a draft decision regarding Syria's return to the Arab League, which is expected to be discussed by Arab foreign ministers in Cairo tomorrow, Sunday. The magazine indicated that "the foreign ministers of the Arab states will decide in their meeting in Cairo on Sunday to resume the participation of delegations from the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Arab League and all its affiliated organizations and agencies starting from May 7, 2023." It also stated that "there is a need to take practical and effective steps towards gradually resolving the crisis based on a step-by-step approach in line with UN Resolution 2254."
Additionally, it was mentioned: "Today, Saturday, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad was informed about the content of the elements of the draft decision through communications from Arab foreign ministers who have held a series of ministerial meetings in recent weeks to coordinate positions, leading to a consensus within the Arab League. The elements included, according to sources, a 'welcome' to the statements from the meetings of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq in Jeddah on April 14, and the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria in Amman on the 1st of this month, which included a roadmap for resolving the Syrian crisis with the approval of Damascus."
