The Saudi Ambassador Walid Bukhari, during his meeting at his residence in Yarzeh with former Minister Mohammad Shekir, head of the "All of Us for Beirut" gathering, affirmed that "Saudi Arabia stands beside Lebanon, and continuously seeks stability in this brotherly country." He expressed hope for "the Lebanese political forces to reach a consensus to elect a president of the republic and start the path of recovery and advancement."
Shekir informed Bukhari about the launch of the gathering and its national ideas and objectives, which focus on the state and legitimacy, sovereignty in all its dimensions, the Taif Agreement, cohabitation, and partnership. He emphasized the importance of restoring normal relations with the Gulf countries, particularly with Saudi Arabia, based on respect for the sovereignty of brotherly nations and strong brotherly relations. Furthermore, he noted the significance of recognizing the vital role of Gulf nations, especially Saudi Arabia, in embracing Lebanon and supporting it at various levels.
Shekir highlighted the pioneering role played by the Saudi ambassador in assisting Lebanon, particularly regarding the election of a president and protecting Lebanon while preserving its identity. He underscored Saudi Arabia's essential role in ending the crisis and restoring Lebanon's health, grounded in brotherly relations, genuine love for Lebanon, historical embrace, and serious commitment to the interests of Lebanon and its people. Shekir then handed Bukhari a copy of the gathering's document.
