The "Roscosmos" agency has announced the launch date for the Progress MS-28 spacecraft to the International Space Station. According to a statement issued by the agency: "The Progress MS-28 cargo vehicle is scheduled to be launched towards the International Space Station on August 15. The launch will be conducted from site 31 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, using a Russian Soyuz 2.1a rocket."
Roscosmos noted that experts have completed inspections of the spacecraft in a special room located at site 254 in Baikonur, which is lined with radiation-absorbing materials and can simulate outer space conditions. The spacecraft has been returned to the technical center at the cosmodrome, where it has begun connections to a special device for testing its electrical systems.
The "Progress MS" vehicles are cargo spacecraft developed by Russia for resupplying the space station with goods, and they are used to transport scientific equipment, water, oxygen, and food to the station. When these vehicles are docked with the station, their thrusters can be used to adjust the station's orbit in space.
