The Lebanon U23 national team will play two friendly matches against their Syrian counterpart on June 3 and June 6 at the Amin Abdel Nour Stadium in Bhamdoun, in preparation for the fourth West Asian Football Federation Championship, hosted by Iraq from June 12 to June 20, 2023. The draw placed Lebanon in Group C alongside Yemen and Oman, with matches to be held in Baghdad.
Group A includes Iraq (the host), the UAE, and Jordan, while Group B consists of Palestine, Iran, and Syria. The West Asian Championship serves as preparation for the Asian qualifiers, where Lebanon has been drawn in Group 10 alongside the defending champion Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, and Mongolia, from September 4 to 12.
