According to information from the "Jadeed" channel, U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein requested from Speaker Nabih Berri to "help him in curbing Israeli madness, especially with the nearing end of the battle in Rafah." Hochstein warned that Washington would not be able to exert pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after July 24 and could not guarantee his actions, to which Berri responded: "You guarantee it and leave it to us."
The "Jadeed" report indicated that Hochstein's words to Berri were based on specific deadlines for Netanyahu — first, his speech to the U.S. Congress on July 24, and second, the Israeli Knesset's recess on July 27, which lasts for two months, implying a transfer of full powers to him.
Moreover, diplomatic sources told "Jadeed" that "the doors to de-escalation are closed, and escalation is on the horizon based on the principle of 'bigger than a battle and less than a comprehensive war,' meaning that the Israelis may initiate swift and decisive strikes on new targets, and then countries will rally for de-escalation based on an Iranian-American agreement to prevent the war from expanding."
