The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "In the context of the continuous efforts made by the Internal Security Forces to reduce motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese regions, and after an increase in such operations recently in the areas of Baabda, Aariyah, and Khatala performed by an unidentified individual, its units intensified their field and investigative efforts to identify and arrest him, especially after videos circulated on social media documenting his thefts.
As a result of the follow-up, it was found that on May 23, 2024, while attempting to steal a motorcycle in Khatala, municipal police attempted to stop him, but he managed to flee, leaving behind his motorcycle. Following extensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying him as F. S. (born in 1995, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for motorcycle theft and drug use.
On June 5, 2024, after careful surveillance, a unit from the branch raided his residence in the Jnah area and arrested him. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, the necessary legal actions were taken, and he was placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities based on the order of the competent judiciary."
