World Health Organization: Over 300 Deaths from Cholera in Sudan

Margaret Harris, an official at the World Health Organization, announced on Friday that "the humanitarian crisis resulting from the civil war in Sudan is also exacerbating the spread of diseases, including cholera, which has caused the bacterial disease to kill over 300 people." She added in a call with journalists that "11,327 cholera cases have been reported, along with 316 deaths, and cases of dengue fever and meningitis are also on the rise." The official clarified that she "expects the numbers to be higher than what is being reported."
