Scientists Predict a Strong Earthquake in Turkey

Turkish geophysicist Professor Ufuk Ahmed Ergan has predicted that a strong earthquake may occur in the country before spring, but he found it difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the tremors. He was quoted by Haber Global TV saying, "I believe that, in one way or another, we will witness an earthquake before spring. However, I do not know where it will happen at this moment. Unfortunately, the emerging picture indicates this possibility. It shows that stress is increasing, particularly in Anatolia." The expert emphasized that "the situation in Anatolia is extremely tense." He added, "This tension is escalating everywhere. An unusually concerning situation is beginning to emerge. In reality, earthquakes measuring 4 are not strong, but the occurrence of earthquakes exceeding 4 degrees in different parts of the country makes people tremble."
