Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid stated on Sunday that "the war will end without an exchange deal for prisoners with Hamas," considering that "calm in the south will lead to tranquility in the north, and this is the best option." Lapid emphasized that "Israel should not attack Iran alone and must mobilize the world for this purpose, which is why the war should be stopped."
In another context, Lapid confirmed that there have not been any communications yet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the establishment of an official investigation committee into the events of October 7, stressing that he will not engage in any games. He said, "There is a need for an investigation committee, and it should be formed immediately."
Regarding the recruitment of ultra-Orthodox individuals, Lapid clarified that "the Supreme Court has spoken... there is a law requiring ultra-Orthodox Jews to be drafted... the army should not think about politics; it will recruit the number it needs."
Families of the victims of October 7 and relatives of hostages in Gaza submitted a petition to the Israeli Supreme Court on Thursday, demanding the formation of a government investigation committee to uncover the truth about the events of October 7.
