The President of the "National Free Movement," Gebran Basil, confirmed today, Saturday, that "the most important thing in the movement is the human being and his dignity. If a person loses his meaning, values, morals, and the cause he fights for, his existence becomes irrelevant." He added that every individual has ambition, which is a right for everyone, but this ambition should not be greater than the movement, and that politics should not be greater than the human being, who must live with dignity. Basil's remarks came during a brunch organized by the Central Committee for Human and Social Issues in the "Movement" on the occasion of Father's Day. He clarified that the greatest concern is immigration, and that during difficult times, the movement is the one that resists because it sees how the people struggle and suffer for basic needs like food, healthcare, and education. He urged the committee to work with the people of the South, as they are in greatest need of assistance under current circumstances, adding that he supports the efforts of its members and commended the tremendous work they have accomplished despite the challenging conditions. Basil concluded by saying: "The movement does not only engage in politics, but works for the development of the human being so that he remains faithful to his homeland and attached to it."
