Egypt: Student Dies After Falling into Elevator Shaft

The Public Prosecution in Giza, Cairo, has begun an investigation into the incident of a student falling into an elevator shaft in a building in the Haram area. The Giza Public Prosecution has authorized the burial of the student’s body after receiving the autopsy report and has assigned a technical committee to examine the elevator and understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Giza security services received a report from the operations room indicating that a child had died inside an elevator shaft of a building in Haram, prompting immediate response by security forces to the scene.

Upon investigation and examination conducted by the Giza investigation teams, it was found that the "student was inside the elevator in the ninth floor, and his feet were trapped between the wall and the elevator, leading to his fall into the elevator shaft." The body was transferred to the hospital morgue under the supervision of the Public Prosecution. The necessary official report was filed, and legal actions have been taken, with the Public Prosecution in Giza notified to initiate investigations.
