White House National Security Council communications adviser John Kirby forecasted that talks regarding a ceasefire in Gaza would continue until tomorrow. He stated, "The beginning of talks in Doha regarding the ceasefire in Gaza was promising," noting that "both sides reviewed the proposed agreement concerning Gaza and made changes, and details for its implementation are now being discussed rather than the framework." He added, "Hamas's engagement in today's discussions in Doha is similar to what occurred in previous talks." Negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip began this afternoon, with the presence of the head of the Israeli intelligence agency, his counterparts from the United States and Egypt, and the Qatari Prime Minister.
