The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority succeeded in thwarting three attempts to smuggle over 539,000 Captagon pills, discovered hidden in two trucks and a vehicle entering the kingdom. The authority reported the first attempt involved 187,200 Captagon pills found hidden in various parts of a truck coming through the crossing.
In the second attempt, 210,400 Captagon pills were intercepted, concealed inside the radiator of a truck trailer. The third attempt revealed 142,200 Captagon pills hidden within a wheel of a vehicle arriving through the crossing.
The authority emphasized its commitment to enforcing customs oversight on the kingdom's imports and exports while combating smuggling attempts. It urged all parties to contribute to anti-smuggling efforts to protect the community and the economy by contacting them through a designated security reporting number, email, or international number. The authority assures that reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of unified customs regulations will be kept confidential, and a financial reward will be provided to informants if the report is valid.
