On Tuesday, the 23rd edition of the Airport Exhibition kicked off at the Dubai World Trade Centre, lasting until May 16th, with participation from over 150 exhibitors from 20 countries, alongside 6,000 aviation industry specialists. The "Airport Exhibition" is the largest annual event dedicated to the airport industry in the world, the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airline and Group.
The exhibition, which runs until May 16, 2024, features four accompanying events: the Air Traffic Control Forum, Airport Security in the Middle East, the Global Airport Leaders Forum, and the Women in Aviation Conference – Middle East branch. It will showcase more than 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries and will include 4 international pavilions and more than 120 buyers from over 35 countries. The event is organized by RX, based in London, and will see 6,000 decision-makers and specialists attending.
The International Airports Council, whose members operate in 1,925 airports across 171 countries, including Dubai International Airport – the world’s number one airport for international passengers – anticipates that 2024 will be a "milestone for the recovery of global passenger traffic," with passenger numbers reaching 9.4 billion, surpassing the record of 9.2 billion passengers handled in 2019. International passenger traffic is expected to grow to 4.4 billion by 2026. Additionally, flight operations are expected to reach 111.6 million flights by 2026, and global airports will witness 153.8 million flights by 2041.
