The Minister of Social Affairs in the caretaker government, Hector Hajjar, completed his southern tour by visiting the Social Affairs Center in Tyre, where he held a meeting with a group of active associations in the region. He then visited the عامل Foundation before moving to the Tyre District Municipal Union, where he met with the Union's President, Hassan Dabbouq, and the Disaster Management Unit Director, Mortada Mahna, and listened to a detailed explanation about the number of displaced persons in the district and all matters related to securing their needs and deficiencies.
Hajjar then inspected the shelters for Lebanese displaced persons from border villages due to the unstable security situation. He reviewed the conditions and made a statement expressing his pride in the mechanized process, follow-up, and monitoring by the Disaster Management Unit to meet the needs of the displaced. An agreement was reached on how to coordinate in light of the significant needs.
He said, "In light of the current situation, we call on all partners from local and international companies and associations to cooperate in securing the needs of the displaced, whether in shelters or homes in the district. It is also essential to pay attention to the families steadfast in their homes near the borders," urging immediate action to determine all their requirements and work to secure them in partnership with all ministries and institutions. He noted, "We are trying as much as possible to respond to the emergency situation in hopes that things will move toward a more positive state."
