General Safety Tips from the Beirut Fire Brigade for the Summer Season

The "Beirut Fire Brigade" issued a statement reminding beachgoers and swimmers in Lebanon of some tips that can protect them from various risks: "Prevention from harsh sun which can cause burns, drink fluids, drink water and plenty of refreshing fluids, especially for children, use hats, wear a hat to protect against the harmful effects of the sun, monitor children, ensure there is a lifeguard and do not allow children to swim in the presence of high waves and strong currents, avoid swimming after eating, do not swim immediately after meals, avoid dangers around swimming pools, do not jump from high places, especially from rocky areas, and do not run around swimming pools, avoid alcohol in water sports, do not consume alcoholic beverages, especially when engaging in water skiing or riding a jet ski, and it is essential to wear a life jacket, handle muscle strains by lying on your back and relaxing in case of a strain, stay away from dangerous areas, do not swim in agricultural ponds and rivers, especially those with strong currents." The statement concluded: "The Beirut Fire Brigade is concerned that beachgoers adhere to these tips which aim to protect them from imminent dangers, to ensure the safety of all Lebanese, especially the residents of Beirut."
