Arrest of Car Thief with Four Legal Pursuits

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "in the context of the daily follow-up that the Internal Security Forces carry out to pursue those involved in car theft operations in various Lebanese regions, and as a result of the field and investigative follow-up conducted by the competent units in the information division to uncover their identities and work on their arrest, they were able to identify one of the individuals involved in car thefts from the Mountain Lebanon area and transporting them to the Bekaa region, identified as: A. M. (Lebanese), who has a history of crimes including armed robbery, theft, drug offenses, and pickpocketing, with four legal pursuits for car theft against him."

It was noted that "on 5-3-2024, after careful monitoring and surveillance, the division's patrols carried out a precise ambush in the Haret Hreik - Tahwita El Ghadir neighborhood, resulting in the arrest of the mentioned individual. Upon searching him, half a narcotic pill, a sum of money, and a mobile phone were found in his possession. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding carrying out numerous car theft operations from Mountain Lebanon areas, particularly the southern suburbs, Baabda, and Aaramon, and transporting them to the Bekaa region for the benefit of another individual, and he also admitted to drug use. The necessary legal procedures were taken against him, and he was referred along with the seized items to the relevant authority based on the judiciary's orders."
