Saudi Arabia begins its journey today, Sunday, at the Paris 2024 Olympics with participation in the 200-meter freestyle swimming event, featuring swimmer Mashail Al-Aid. Al-Aid competes in the first heats with competitors including UAE's Maha Al-Shahi, Albania's Kaltra Mika, Laos' Ariana Southa, India's Dindi Disengo, Pakistan's Jehanara Nabi, and Nepal's Duana Lama. The fastest 16 swimmers in the heats will qualify for the semifinals. Al-Aid also participated in the recent World Aquatics Championships held in Qatar, finishing 33rd in the 400-meter freestyle heats and 48th in the 200-meter freestyle heats.
