Despite Paris Saint-Germain's 3-0 victory over Milan in their last encounter in the UEFA Champions League, Luis Enrique, the head coach of the French team, stated that "the task will be different when visiting the Italian team." Paris Saint-Germain bounced back after their 4-1 loss to Newcastle United by defeating Milan in Paris and topping Group F. The French team plays in Milan on Tuesday.
Luis Enrique told reporters: "Logically, you should forget about the Paris match. It is an entirely different game. Of course, we need to analyze some things that happened in that match, but we have a clear idea that we will not change just because we are playing at home or away."
The coach insisted that his team will not alter their style of play regardless of the opponent. He said: "When do we change our way of playing based on the opponent? When we do not have the ball, then our goal is to regain possession as quickly as possible." He added, "We want to keep the ball, we want to have more possession than Milan, we want to outperform them in creating chances, we want to win."
The coach praised midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (17 years old) of Paris Saint-Germain, who has scored two goals in the league and provided three assists in the Champions League. He said: "Warren Zaïre-Emery is a gem. There are many aspects that can be improved considering his age, and one of the most important aspects is his ability to understand others."
He continued, "Humility is one of his best qualities. He is 17 years old but very humble, and of course, his family has raised him well with strong family values."
Saint-Germain tops Group F of the Champions League with six points, two points ahead of Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle. Milan, who has not scored any goals in the tournament after three matches, is at the bottom of the group with two points.
