The British maritime security company Ambrey indicated today, Wednesday, that "a commercial ship reported being targeted about 67.7 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah in Yemen." The company added in a memorandum, "Ambrey's assessments suggest that the ship was among the category of vessels targeted by the Houthis at the time of the incident." This comes about three days after the Houthi group announced its targeting of the British destroyer "Diamond" in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles, an attack that they considered a response to the "massacre of the Nusairat camp" in the Gaza Strip. The group stated in a statement that the hit was "precise" without clarifying whether it caused damage. They claimed that the strikes hit two vessels belonging to the British destroyer, "Norderny" and "Tavishi," and led to a "fire" on the first ship, noting that these strikes were the result of two joint operations in the Red Sea. They explained that the naval forces, the missile force, and the drone air force executed the operations with naval and ballistic missiles and drones. For its part, the British Ministry of Defense stated that the Houthi claims of targeting a British destroyer in the Red Sea are "incorrect."
