Turkish Shelling Targets Northern Iraq... Casualties and Displacement

Several villages in the Duhok province of northern Iraq were subjected to Turkish artillery bombardment this morning, Monday. An Iraqi security source reported that "Turkish forces shelled the Kalai Rasha area this morning, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure and the burning of agricultural land." The Turkish forces targeted the forests in the Rikan area with incendiary bombs. According to the source, the Turkish army launched a military operation early today in the Amidi area. These military operations led to the displacement of many families to areas away from the shelling, according to Iraqi sources.
